What a full day we yesterday. We had a delightful breakfast in our foundation and breakfast at in relation to 8: 30 am and embraced some nice conversations with a young couple from Sweden and an older couple from Holland, the hostess was participating as well. This is one of my favourite reasons for having bed and breakfasts, usually they offer really tasty filling meals along with a great conversation to go with it.

We got going by around noon and hopped off the subway just before your Brooklyn Bridge and ended up exploring the historic Brooklyn Heights neighbourhood a tiny bit, a place with lots of well-preserved brownstones and expensive apartment buildings having a perfect view of in town Manhattan. Then we started our walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, and started to soak in the vistas of this famous skyscrapers.

The Manhattan Bridge is very close to the Brooklyn Bridge and this Empire State Building is visible on the horizon. Tons of walkers as well as bikers were making the trekk over the bridge and the temperature was pretty decent, sunny with about 16 degrees fahrenheit Celsius.

After the bridge we reached NYC City Hall that had been blocked off to pedestrian traffic and there was a big congregation of media people to the front steps. Tons of people were sitting around typically the beautiful fountain just outside of city hall and together with the blue sky, the blooming trees and the surrounding architectural arrangements it was just the perfect place to snap away with that camera. I particularly fell in love with the ornate spires from the Woolworth Building.

Then all of us headed further west, explored the yard of E. Paul's Cathedral which is right across in the World Trade Center destination. As a first host to refuge after the traumatic events, the churchyard has a number of plaques commemorating the events of 911 and it took more than a to clear all the debris out of your yard that had fallen down together with the collapse of the buildings.

We then proceeded towards Ground Zero. The area is fenced apart with various posters showing the history of the buildings, the events of 911, and the names of the more than 2700 victims. The tragedy of 911 is extremely hard to grasp and when you are right there where the idea happened, you remember all the horrible pictures and the especially horrible events of this fateful day, now more than 31/2 years ago. It is so hard to consider these 2 enormous constructions collapsing, surrounded on virtually all sides by other highrise podiums, and what it must have been like that time of day, with people running through the streets, debris raining downwards, rescue workers risking their lives to help the victims. The law enforcement agency presence, by the manner, was very strong and even we weren't sure if there is a special reason to make the or if that was the outcome every day.

After reflecting for a while and absorbing the incomprehensible nature of this tragedy we walked southern region on Liberty Street in to Battery Park. Lots of African business men were around with suitcases and bags filled with merchandise and it seems these people were very careful not to become seen by the police force. We had a beautiful view all over the bay towards the figurine of liberty and proceeded to next destination - the particular Staten Island Ferry airport terminal, where our next adventure began...
